چکیده
A field study was conducted to evaluate tolerance of pecan rootstocks soil salinity and sodicity. Seven cultivars—Elliott, Giles, Ideal, Peruque, Riverside, ‘Shoshoni, VC1-68—were selected from a range geographic regions origin. The the experimental plot poorly drained, saline–sodic Pima silty clay variant. irrigation water moderately saline mix Gila River local groundwater with an electrical conductivity 2.8 dS⋅m –1 , containing primarily ions Na Cl. Eighty seeds each cultivar were planted in greenhouse late Feb. 2016; 48 seedlings transplanted into plots 2017. Half trees received soil-based application Zn–ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) at planting. observed rated for both vigor resistance salt injury on seven separate occasions. Trunk diameter measured dormant season. Leaf samples collected 9 Oct. 2019 6 2020, analyzed nutrient content. Zn-EDTA not found have significant effect growth, vigor, or injury. ‘Elliott’ exhibited greater alkaline, conditions than other cultivars. ‘Giles’ ‘Peruque’ most severely affected. Resistance (ranging marginal leaf burn necrosis entire leaf), growth correlated more strongly foliar concentrations Cl K during 2019. Vigor significantly Na, Cl, 2020. K:Na ratio had nearly equal correlation that alone However, although stronger K, strongest In only ratio. 2020 concentration.

Stability of a Calcareous Saline-Sodic Soil During Reclamation
General guidelines to reclaim saline or sodic soils do not adequately consider variables such as pH and the presence of organic matter that are known to affect soil stability. Poor structural stability of sodic, saline-sodic, and high-pH soils adversely influences crop yields; promotes piping, tunneling, and slope erosion; and can accelerate the failure of water conveyance systems. We evaluated...
متن کاملApplication of wastewater with high organic load for saline-sodic soil reclamation focusing on soil purification ability
Fresh water source scarcity in arid and semiarid area is limitation factor for saline-sodic soil reclamation. The reusing of agricultural drainage and industrial wastewater are preferred strategies for combating with this concern. The objective of current study was evaluation in application of industrial sugar manufacture wastewater due to high soluble organic compounds in saline-sodic and sodi...

The application of organic amendments can be an appropriate solution to reclaim and improve physical propertiesof saline-sodic soils. In this research, an experiment was performed under greenhouse conditions to study the effect ofamendments to the physical properties of loamy saline-sodic soil. The five treatments were control (withoutamendment), municipal solid waste compost (MC), vermicompost...
متن کاملGeochemical Modeling of Trivalent Chromium Migration in Saline-Sodic Soil during Lasagna Process: Impact on Soil Physicochemical Properties
Trivalent Cr is one of the heavy metals that are difficult to be removed from soil using electrokinetic study because of its geochemical properties. High buffering capacity soil is expected to reduce the mobility of the trivalent Cr and subsequently reduce the remedial efficiency thereby complicating the remediation process. In this study, geochemical modeling and migration of trivalent Cr in s...

Increasing of population in the world caused overusing natural resources and land destruction. Salinization and sodification are two effects of land destruction. Leaching of soil soluble salts is the most appropriate method to emend and reclaim saline and sodic soils. In this study, Examination of different leaching methods of saline from sodic soils has been evaluated in Veis Area in Khoozesta...
